There are other brands. Thanks for that clarification, I appreciate it! Quote Uwe (pronounced "OOH-vuh" ) Links: Videos
Members JulesPDX Posted March 24, 2024 Author Members Report Posted March 24, 2024 Thanks so much! Ok - no moving the handwheel in that direction anymore. Really appreciate your time and knowledge everyone. I can't wait to get this set up with a motor and give it a whirl! Quote
Members JulesPDX Posted March 24, 2024 Author Members Report Posted March 24, 2024 (edited) Uwe that video showed me exactly what was wrong as I reassembled the bobbin mechanism. Thank you! Edited March 24, 2024 by JulesPDX Quote

That aluminum burr is new to me, I’ve not come across that type of belt in my online searches. A link to a source would be great. will try to get a pic of it for you. Sorry for the lateness. glenn Quote

Great machines but parts can be difficult to find. You might also want to lubricate all the working parts with the oil and then start taking it apart to further clean it once you have it free up and running smoothly. I have a bunch of files for the 145 and 545, holler if you need anything. Can you share your files please ? I have the manual and spare catalogue parts for the 145 modele Quote
Members JulesPDX Posted April 19, 2024 Author Members Report Posted April 19, 2024 (edited) Ok - here it is fully restored with a new motor. On to thread next! Suggestions for leather? Edited April 19, 2024 by JulesPDX Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted April 21, 2024 Members Report Posted April 21, 2024 nice job. You get the rust off the balance wheel. Quote
Members JulesPDX Posted April 23, 2024 Author Members Report Posted April 23, 2024 I think I got most of the rust off! I am trying to sew for the first time and threading my needle. I'm having a REALLY hard time moving the hand wheel while it is connected to the servo motor. Is that normal? Should I be disconnecting it when I need to hand crank it? I have a CONSEW servo motor if that helps. Quote
Members fibersport Posted April 23, 2024 Members Report Posted April 23, 2024 The Consew servo motors have a brake. One option is to remove the cork pads, the other is to apply just a little bit of force on the treadle to get the motor almost turning which will release the brake, you can then turn the hand wheel very easily. Members JulesPDX Posted April 23, 2024 Author Members Report Posted April 23, 2024 oh dang. I don't think I have the brake pads on. My motor didn't come with any instructions. Anyone have a link? Quote
