Restoring a rat eaten vest

this is the yoke of the back on top of the new piece

The little beggars sure did get to that one. It's good to see a garment like that made usable again.

Yes, please let us know!  I'm surprised it's salvageable - usually something like that is so contaminated with rat pee and poop that no one wants to save it!

Recreating the vest is not that hard

cut the stitches. And take it apart

use the old pieces as your pattern for the new. Shown is the back and sides, they are pretty much straight forward  the back and side old leather is useable for the liner

the front  will be all new

Inside pockets are reusable
