Guest Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 I have to ask...what kind of wood? And do you have a forge? I know NOTHING about axes; but that one is beautiful! The leather work is terrific but that wood and axe head just knock me out! Dave Theobald Quote
Members Tracy Dotson Posted January 13, 2007 Author Members Report Posted January 13, 2007 Hey, Dave thanks for the nice words, the wood is Tiger Maple, and yes i have my own forge this piece started as a round bar 1 1/4" in dia. its great we get to play in the fire, beat on things and nobody yell at me :fire: Quote
Guest Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 Tracy, I am in complete awe....I doubt many know the time, effort and skill that goes into creating such a piece of art as that! The curly maple is outstanding....and probably rather pricey in piece with that figure and size. But that axe head is simply beautiful. The leather work sets everything off perfectly. If you were to sell something like that, can I inquire as to the price? Hope that isn't too personal. Thanks for showing it, Dave Theobald Quote

Contributing Member Regis Posted January 14, 2007 Contributing Member Report Posted January 14, 2007 Tracy, Is that "get togather" in March primarily for knife making, leather work, or both? I'm just over in Pensacola but, am pretty new at leatherwork. Quote
Members MatthewD Posted January 14, 2007 Members Report Posted January 14, 2007 Tracey.. you happen to post on Don Fogg's Blade smith board from time to time? Reason I ask your work looks like one I saw on there a while back... and if you don't, you might want to check it out.. http://forums.dfoggknives.com/index.php Quote
