Members DaleksInc Posted August 8, 2024 Members Report Posted August 8, 2024 Per the title, I'm interested in using some (mid-sized) embossing plates, but don't have a clicker (and probably won't for a while; those things are somewhat expensive.) Is it possible to use an embossing plate without one, or am I out of luck? Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted August 8, 2024 Contributing Member Report Posted August 8, 2024 (edited) I use a Tandy Pro press, others use arbour thingies, what ever can give pressure. I have number of different sized embossing plates I use And if the plate is not too big a ginormous whack with a mallet will do the trick too Edited August 8, 2024 by fredk Quote
Members TonyV Posted August 8, 2024 Members Report Posted August 8, 2024 a desktop arbor press should work. or my ex could stand on it Quote

Contributing Member fredk Posted August 8, 2024 Contributing Member Report Posted August 8, 2024 . . . . a car, a hydraulic jack, the ground . . . . Quote
toxo Posted August 9, 2024 Report Posted August 9, 2024 If nothing else, dampen the leather slightly and squeeze between couple of boards with some clamps will get you out of trouble. Quote
