Singer 211 Long Arm

This machine popped up locally.     I've done some digging and can't find anything regarding it's production run, parts, manuals, etc.     I found only one other picture of one online and it was this same machine for sale before the current owner purchased it.

The sticker w/ the model number is damaged.    It says 211???.    G,  U ?   I've never seen either letter w/ a white 211.    My guess is a made in Japan U but that's just a guess.

Does anybody know anything about this machine?     I'm normally very good at digging up info but this one has me at a loss.  Any help is appreciated.

 

Note:    We're investigating heavy duty long arms for production heavy denier nylon bag making.    Two machines available locally.     This Singer 211  (we have a bunch of 211A's and I'm very familiar with them).     The other machine is a Consew 744R-30.    Neither machine is exactly cheap but they both appear to be in good condition.   I've seen vids of the 744R-30 sewing through 1/4"+ heavy nylon and I really like the looks of that machine.....parts, manuals, etc....everything available.      The Singer may be as heavy and strong but I know nothing about it and can't find anything.

The Singer is a 211 that has been stretched and uses a135x17 needle. Consew 744 is a much heavier duty machine and will sew practically anything. Vs. the 211, the 744 has a longer needle bar stroke, longer max. stitch length, more clearance under the foot, and larger bobbin. 744 uses a 7x3 needle.

My questions: Is the long arm necessary? Could you get away with a machine like a Juki DNU-1508 or clone. Would a cylinder bed machine like a Juki LS-341 / 1341 or Juki TSC-441 or clones of those machine work??How thick is the thickest part that you have to sew going to be?

A couple of photo's of the style of bags you want to make may help to determine if this is the right style of machine for your application.

I wondered if it had been 'home stretched' but the casting looked complete and compared to some stretched machines I've seen, this one just looked factory made.   Good chance it simply isn't?

Yeah,  the 744 is a tougher machine from what I've seen.    The 1508 looks like a tank.    The bag dimensions are larger than the throat and we're sewing in 1/16" HDPE panels to reinforce the nylon.    Folding a 20" wide panel into a 12" throat is tough.   

The bag shown is approx. 12" deep x 20" wide x 26" tall.   The nylon is 1680 denier w/ 1/16" HDPE reinf. panels sewn in.   We're need to move beyond the 'multi panel/sewn vertical seam' style and do as much in the flat as possible.   I don't see accomplishing that w/o a long arm.   

I think the 744 is going to be the machine I'd prefer.
