Members Constabulary Posted June 26 Members Report Posted June 26 looks good so far - how ever some fine tuning could be necessary. Little hint - the thread should run above the thread lever and not under it. The white thread is thinner than the brown but it's the only other thread that was a contrasting color to see if my tension was right. Quote

I got the new needle bar to make the change so I can use larger needles but I realized that the one it already has on fits the same size needle and they have the same size opening. Seems like other than the length and age the needle bars are the same. I wonder if someone had already made the change. The image shows the new needle bar I ordered and the current needle size that I'm using it fits seamlessly. Quote
Members Constabulary Posted June 28 Members Report Posted June 28 no one knows the history of this machine maybe one of the former owners had the same idea and change the NB some time ago. Who knows? Who knows? One of the joys of buying old(er) machines, you never know what may have been changed. Calidora, looks like you've got it sorted and could be a handy machine to have. Members Calidora Posted June 30 Author Members Report Posted June 30 Ok. So apparently this machine has seen heavy use. The take-up lever eyelet is getting close to being cut open by the thread. Is there a way to remedy this? Other than replacing it that is. Quote
Members Constabulary Posted June 30 Members Report Posted June 30 (edited) hard soldering then drill the hole and polish it but new take up levers are available new. Should be this one but check parts list first: https://www.ebay.com/itm/196288462626 I´d buy a new one.
