Hello everyone,

My name is Rob Gerbitz and I live here in Tampico, Il. I have been working at learning how to work with rawhide for about 3 years now and my wife and I am are just getting into making chaps and chinks. I am very excited to have found this group. I have a lot of questions about braiding and leatherwork in general. I am looking forward to corresponding with anyone here who cares to. Thank you all for being here.

Welcome, Rob!

The server hiccupped today and ate your other post. Ain't that a great beginning? I'm glad you are here (and that you have a little patience!) There are lots of terrific people here.

DSCN5934.JPGHey, Rob,

Where is Tampico IL in relation to Champaign-Urbana? That's where I am. Would like to meet other leatherworkers & exchange questions/knowledge!

Haven't done much braiding except a four-part braid I made w/artificial sinew & used to lace a pouch with. It took seemingly MILES of lacing!!

I'm going to try & attach a photo of the lacing on another bag I just finished.
