Splitting Leather &/or Watch Strap Making

Hi Everyone
I've just come across this website looking for leather workers in the UK. I now have a really odd question!

I have a piece of leather 3mm thick, which I want to turn into a watch strap. 3mm is too thick, so I need to split it down to a max 1.6mm, but ideally 1.2mm.

Therefore:
1. Do any of you in UK have a leather splitter that could do this? If so, could I pay you to split it for me please?
2. Does anyone on here make watch straps to sell please?

Thanks all. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best
Craig

If no-one close to you in England comes forward you could try asking Le Prevo in Newcastle

How much leather do you want reduced?

I've bought a cheap leather splitter from AliExpress which works surpisingly well. Splitting down 3.5mm veg tan is super easy and it even works on 1.5mm chrome tan. It's basically just a holder for cutter blades, so a dulled blade can be easily replaced (or sharpened if you like). The width of the leather that can be split is limited to the length of the blade, so +/- 9cm.

This is the one I got: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005967041306.html

There's plenty of similars and the price constantly varies, but I think it bottoms out at around 35-40 euros.
