Members catskin Posted 16 hours ago Members Report Posted 16 hours ago Does the 29U 172A ( Patcher )use a regular screw or a Singer screw to hold the needle in? Quote
Members Constabulary Posted 16 hours ago Members Report Posted 16 hours ago (edited) afaik its the same as on other 29Ks too EDIT: Parts list > Parts number > check google Parts list: https://archive.org/download/manualsbase-id-577992/577992.pdf Parts number: 544383 For instance: https://marfar.com.au/products/screw-needle-clamp_-or-545318-544383-or-happo-46642 Edited 16 hours ago by Constabulary Quote
Members catskin Posted 16 hours ago Author Members Report Posted 16 hours ago The reason I asked, is in another thread someone asked about screws for a Singer 20 U machine and was told they are not the singer thread. I think singer machines with a U in the model are made in Japan. Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted 12 hours ago Members Report Posted 12 hours ago Constabulary stated earlier it was screw #544383 which is supposed to be the same as #237. Specs 9/64" x 40tpi. I would have bet it was metric since Singer changed a lot of parts and screws on the 29U series which was made in Japan not Kilbowie where all of the 29 machines were made after 1923. glenn Quote
