Members Timmmm Posted yesterday at 11:55 AM Members Report Posted yesterday at 11:55 AM (edited) I am having trouble getting the tension right on my machine. It looks to me like I need to adjust the bottom to pull the knot through to the middle. Still working on that. Second problem is this puckering on the bottom side hole. What causes this? Is this the needle sharpness? Tension? I just received the two new tension screws for the bobbin shuttle (small one I lost and the big one was starting to strip so I ordered both) from LMC for my class 4. Where do I start once I change the screw(s)? Try the middle and see? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I included a photo that shows both topside and bottom with the puckering. Thanks. btw this was two layers of 5-6 Edited yesterday at 11:56 AM by Timmmm Quote
Members DieselTech Posted yesterday at 02:21 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 02:21 PM I think you are going to get puckering, regardless of the needles you use. You can try stepping down a needle size. What needle size & point style of needle are you using? You can massage the puckering with a hammer or bone slicker or both. Quote
Members Cumberland Highpower Posted yesterday at 02:21 PM Members Report Posted yesterday at 02:21 PM (edited) Your bobbin tension isn't supposed to be too high, rather on the light side. That's something you need to experiment with based on your work and threads. Start with a light tension on your bobbin and adjust the top. Once you're pulling the lock to where it needs to be, see if you like the look of the stitch. If the stitch needs to be pulled tighter, tighten the bobbin a little more and then reset the top. You may also need a different needle as well. Run black on top and white in the bobbin and it's easy to see what's going on. Edited yesterday at 02:26 PM by Cumberland Highpower Quote
