Hello. I am still looking for a sewing machine to make totes, purses, and other small bags. I have recently found two machines that are within 3 hours of my home and within my price range. I am wondering which machine you would recommend.
Pfaff 145 H3 with old motor or Singer 111w115 with new servo motor.

I appreciate your feedback!

I would not put so much of the decision on what drive each machine has under the table. But would make the decision on the condition of the Head. ( me ) , drive motors come and go, and can easy be changed out.

Machine Pic's would help a Lot .
Both are solid workhorse machines / The older Head is no doubt the 111w115., and it most likely does not even have reverse . If the Pfaff was pretty clean Head, and not beat to hell. I would take the old 145H3 on my 1st choice.

Can you get a close-up of the Pfaff brass serial number plate ?

Then  you can get exact specs about the machine.

Spare parts - if needed - are definitely less expensive and more readily available for the Singer - especially in the US.

I love my Pfaff but that one looks like its seen a lot of use.  All things equal, I would have to go with the Singer just from the pictures.  I second the difficulty and price for Pfaff parts.
