hello, i recently got a old pfaff 1245 sewing machine, is there a way of finding out what year it is? and if so, is there a way of finding a manual for it? is there a place online where i can find all the manuals for old sewing machines regardless of make and model?

thank you

they have been making these machines for decades and how do i know that this manual isn't for a newer version of the same machine? and as such will have wrong information when it comes to mine?

Without a photo people are just shooting in the dark. I don't know of any data base of PFAFF machines listing date of manufacture. PFAFF doesn't seem to have kept recorders like Singer. The best anyone can do is view a photo and from certain features say it is an old casing or new casting or by the colour which ranged from everything from diaper stain brown to off white. Except for the new PFAFF manuals appear to change very little over time and when they did they changed the model number.

Post a photo for better help and a detail of the information on the nameplate.

A good start would be to read the manual and compare the operations/parts to your actual machine. If all the parts/adjustments are the same then there's a pretty good chance it's the right one (or close enough to be usable).

Machines wot I have - Singer 51W59; Singer 331K4; Seiko STH-8BLD; Pfaff 335; CB4500.

Chinese shoe patcher; Singer 201K (old hand crank)
