Members mb5 Posted 21 hours ago Members Report Posted 21 hours ago What material is it? It looks like it may have been what they used as a strop. Tandy has a white jeweler's rouge that looks similar when applied and used. Quote
Members Handstitched Posted 21 hours ago Members Report Posted 21 hours ago The tool in the centre looks a bit like a rivet setter as I can see a notch in the middle ? Moderator bruce johnson Posted 11 hours ago Moderator Report Posted 11 hours ago That tool is for setting "bar snaps". Bar snaps are used on the edge of wide flaps like on the coin pocket in a wallet. It was a wide piece of brass with the snap stead molded in. This tool was used to crimp the bar on the edge of the flap. Northmount Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago The stud in the bar is an integral part of the bar. It just crimps the bar onto the leather flap. Quote
