Looks like at least on the slickfork with the chocoalte bucking rolls, you did a one piece rear jockey. That so?? Looks very clean, and reminds me of a guy's work I admire. Don101 Report post Posted May 2, 2007 Very nice, i ve been wanting to build a saddle for a long time but dont seem to convince myself to go a head as there isnt any courses or really good western saddle builders over here where you could gain experience from one day maybe, still nice work. I did do a one piece rear jockey on the slickfork, a very good friend of mine and teacher is John " the saddleman" out of texas. He does that on his saddles. bruce johnson Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Ashley, On the one piece rear jockeys, I was referring to Ken Tipton ("Tip's" in Winnemucca, NV). His saddles have them. I see the one piece jockeys occasionally, and am usually impressed when someone can (1) uses an piece of leather that is appropriate for that, and (2) can make them fit right. Unfortunately, I am still a two piece and lacer. When I get to the point of doing a saddle-show saddle, I am going to do the one piece.
