I would go with Eddington, though I'm not sure whether the natural or the deer, as I've only seen the deer.

Hi Lute,

Eddington Natural

Eddington White

Eddington because it is not laid as hard as Coats or Rice.

Deer is on the Gold side and Pheasant is on the yellow side, however they both work well on Natural/Russet leather.

Barbour's is fairly white, but it takes dye better than any synthetic.

This is for machine stitching, if you want it to look like beeswaxed hand stitching, then Coats Pheasant is a good approximation.

Lute in my opinion the coats peasent resembles the look of linen the closest. If you are still having trouble breaking linen in your Pearson try using one size larger needle then you are currently trying. Let me know how that works. Greg

Thanks to all for the opinions and advice.

This is what I found out about the Eddington poly in Natural color in 277, 346, or 415:

Good luck finding it.

Campbell does not stock it. Special order only, minimum order 50 pounds.

So I called Eddington and talked with Michelle, and was told that the manufacturers using the heavy threads

buy only black and white. Eddington has no stock at all on 207 or 277 in Natural, but does have small amounts

of 346 and 415. She very kindly offered to send me a quarter pound of 377 to try out.

Greg,

Thanks for remembering about the Pearson problem (s). I have been away from home for several months

on a contract job so have not had a chance to deal with the old No. 6. If you could answer some questions for

me I would really appreciate it.
