Burnishing or Slicking Edges? What do we call it?

 I burnish edges with friction and something like water, wax or tokenole til they're slick.

I feed my 7.62x39mm and 6.5x55mm magazines with clips.  All my other magazines are fed by hand.

Cos I've been asked if I can make slings for M1. Chap says he can't get them here and no-one will make them for him

I have a green sling made out of nylon but want to make a nice leather sling. That may be my next project.

And to keep on topic: I'll burnish the edges

WYO Quick Silk works best for me; don't get one drop or less on unfinished leather.

All this time, I thought that I was slicking my edges... turns out that I was actually burnishing them.

Couldn't sleep the first two nights after finding this out but on the third night, finally said to myself, "What's done is done" and drifted off into a deep sleep.
