Really a cool effect! If it breaks the continuity with the other books, I suppose it is better to go with something that will work on all of the books. Metallic green (like a green june beetle) would look good too, but so would gold. What is your plan with the other three books, and the two line border line? Brgds Jonas Each book will have different color marbled end pages, speckled page edges, and ribbons to match. Each of those colors will reflect the mood of the book. For instance, The Hobbit will have light brown marbled end pages, a dark brown ribbon, and light brown w/rust speckles page edges. It gives the feel of the earth because Hobbits like to grow things. As to the border lines around the covers I still haven't decided but I want to be consistant with all the books. Quote
Members Mablung Posted 21 hours ago Members Report Posted 21 hours ago That is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Wow. To me, it's especially significant, because I think The Silmarillion is one of the greatest books ever written and Tolkien one of the greatest authors ever, at least within the English literature pantheon. Excellently done indeed. Quote

That sounds like a fantastic idea. I can see that it is a difficult decision about any border lines, since they should compliment each individual book and still look good according to that books theme and cover. When they are all completed they will be look incredible! Brgds Jonas Quote

Everyone knows The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings so it makes sense to have those 4 books in one box. I like to joke The Silmarillion is for the Tolkien nerds lol. 35 minutes ago, Samalan said: WOW, there are some very talented people on this site, and you are definitely one of them. Beautiful work. On the back cover especially, everything just looks to be floating there. I think a border will bring more balance to it, like putting a picture frame on a photograph. Making the borders gold on all the covers will tie the books together while the other things, like end pages, being different will state that you're in a different part to the story. Quote
AlZilla Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago You seem to be creating a niche. Not every newbie with an Amazon starter kit is going to be doing this but I don't think it's a big enough market for some Chinese factory to spit out 5,000 before lunch tomorrow. Plus, doing custom bespoke orders for someone's favorite book. You're on to something.
