Certainly a strange situation, what sort of "custom" shop does Western-style gunbelts but not holsters? I tried talking him into black stitching, but he wouldn't budge on the color. I like black on natural better than white or cream. The contrast makes all the effort of hand stitching shine. From what I can tell with what little information I was able to find online and pictures, they don't typically make any cartridge or western style belts. Just the normal everyday belt. I'm still kinda perplexed by it. Long story short, they opened up so about 2 years ago. (I considered buying the business when the previous owner was retiring) Every time I try to go in to introduce myself, they're closed. They don't answer the phone and they don't return calls. That seems to be a pattern with some other people I've talked to. It would be nice to meet and work with some local makers though. Quote
wizard of tragacanth Posted Tuesday at 05:47 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 05:47 PM Beautiful work... I'm kinda worried about the ultimate outcome : / Quote Wisdom from an old Missouri farmer, my Grandpa: If it's not sharp, it's not a knife.
Contributing Member Samalan Posted Tuesday at 06:45 PM Contributing Member Report Posted Tuesday at 06:45 PM That is really beautiful, serious attention to detail. The other guy has a problem if his belt isn't made to the same level of detail as that holster. I think it's a bit more than just dye over that beautiful stitching. Not everyone is capable of doing work as you did on that holster. I don't see this collaboration working out, but I've been wrong before. I truly hope it comes out beautiful because if it doesn't, even though your work is impeccable, you will be part of a horrible build. IMHO. Quote
Members DoubleKCustomLeathercraft Posted Wednesday at 03:18 AM Author Members Report Posted Wednesday at 03:18 AM Thanks again everyone for the awake words of encouragement. I've seen a handful of regular belts made by the other shop and they look to be in the same level. Fingers crossed i do get pictures of the final outcome to share. Quote

IMHO. Not a huge concern if the out ends up bad because of the other shops inability. I've seen some of their work and I believe they're very capable. And if it does end up a horrible build, at least I came through from my end of it Quote
