Moderator Art Posted February 4, 2009 Moderator Report Posted February 4, 2009 Try Sailrite, they are never the least expensive, but often have what you need. Their snaps are usually DOT. http://www.sailrite.com/Snap-Fastener-Clot...Stainless-Steel Between .59 and .67 each. Art I am looking for stainless line snaps. Maybe if you let them know youre a "leathercraft shop" they may give you a break. also, once you get them, try finding the mfg/importer/source and look for a "wholesaler". Moderator Art Posted February 4, 2009 Moderator Report Posted February 4, 2009 Most of the stainless snaps come from DOT (Scovill also, DOTs parent company). There are several ways to buy direct from DOT or Scovill, it is a little tedious because of all the part numbers, but it can be done. You may find that it is far easier to get Ligne 24 snaps than Ligne 20 in stainless steel. The boating industry settled on 24s years ago and everyone seems to have followed along. Members skip Posted February 5, 2009 Members Report Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) I got some from Weaver leather a while ago and bought them in a bag of a 1000 if I am not mistaken they were not that expensive. I have had a problem with setting them though as it chews up the tandy punch tool I had as well as the C S Osborne one I have. I am actually goint to end up getting one made of Stainless steel so it wont get messed up. good luck Edited February 5, 2009 by skip Quote
Members HarryB Posted February 6, 2009 Members Report Posted February 6, 2009 I love Weaver's and I get a lot of hardware from them but you have to be careful what you order. The last double capped rivets I ordered, I expected to come from Ohio Travel Bag as previous ones had. The last ones were made in China and were shipped in Tandy's packaging! I am also pulling my hair out trying to get a refund from Scovill for an order I had not requested but received 6 weeks after talking to a sales person about some snaps. Not real happy with them at this time. Check Fasnap Corp. for the SS snaps. Quote
