A riflesling, this design was circling a while ago.

I think it was DCKnives who posted a pattern for this one so thanks for that. I used this design to have something to go by to learn how to make them from two different leathers. This one is basically a functional prototype so didn't put too much energy into it but made a simple celtic eagle carving anyways.

Very nice looking, I need to remake a sling for a repro Revolutionary War Charleville flintlock. This would be a great starting place

Yep, this a very good design to start out with because it is easy to modify and find intersting new combos with. Also gives a good surface to carve and tool.

I used a diluted Fiebings pro oil red first and then some of the old Tandys mahogany on top of it. No resist in between the two coats.
