Drac Report post Posted March 5, 2008 three more masks for your viewing boredom! don't think I'll be making another one like the 3rd until I forget how much of a pain in the arse it was to do. not sure about keeping the extra bit in it either. yes? no? maybe? lemme know! with the first one, not sure about adding more spikes or not. input? with the second one, think the boo-boo on the nose was from me drying it so yep, I know it's there. oopsie! TomSwede Report post Posted March 5, 2008 (edited) Oh man, gimme a break! Utterly crazy wacky stuff! First one is really mean, Batman on steroids and having an breakdown. Last one is...Shiva? It would suit her with all her arms. One sure would like to take a look inside your mind when thinking these ones up, lol! But seriously then, do you have an idea and a plan when you first start cutting the leather or do just go with the flow and make it what it is along the way? I'm guessing on the last answer. Have you seen that Bangladesh cardesigner in London on Discovery channel, chop chop garage? Love that man in action, no plans no nothing, just shreds a car into pieces and then work on with ideas as they appear and causes some major problems to the hysteric mechanic. Tom Edit: Now I've read your text too, heeh..kind of forgot that. I think the first mask is finished with spikes. You wanna go for spikes? Why not not a mask inspired by Pinhead from the movie Hellraiser. I'm not sure bout the piece in the third mask, have to see it without to make a call on that one. If it'll get ruined from being plucked out I'd probably leave it and let potential customer decide if that's where it's heading. Drac Report post Posted March 5, 2008 tom now why is it that every time I do one with top points everybody thinks Batman? *L* wait 'til ya see the armor I've been slackin' on. THEN ya can say Batman! *L* and I kinda like the shiva idea, so yeah, that's it. shiva. I always have an idea before I start and do a template out of posterboard first. and the ideas jsut kinda pop into me head. scary, yes? *L* haven't seen the show but sounds like fun. maybe I should actually watch tv every now and then. clay thanks! I keep trying. that's why I keep posting 'em up here for feedback when I get a couple done.
HorsehairBraider Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Oooh - I love that last one, it's my favorite... I like it just the way it is. I think you have a tasteful amount of spikes on the first, but you know, a real spikey-type person might want more, I don't know. They're all three very fun. Maeshin Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Excellent masks ^_^ I'm still partial to the pointy demonish look with the long spikes on top and bottom (such as in the first), but they are all really lovely, particularly that last one! How long did it take you to make it?
Drac Report post Posted March 6, 2008 hhbraider thanks very much! that last one was worth it... I think. *L* roo yep, me bug spray failed me on this one. *L* and that pinchy thing on that one was annoying! ack! lots o' lines! steve danke! maeshin that last one took what seemed forever! I'm slow to begin with doing this stuff and carving, plus I make a template for everything so I can do more with variations, so between drawing the design, cutting it out, cutting out the mask, airbrushing, molding, drying and sealing... um... er... ah... dunno? *L* think about a day probably.
