Members Sasquatch Posted March 31, 2009 Members Report Posted March 31, 2009 Just finished this up for a client. Was working on it for a few days to get the stitching right... Wow loads of work with no stitching pony. Finally got er done after about 3 types of needles later. What do people here use for pre-punched leather projects? I settled on tapestry needles I liked how the ends were rounded. Thanks, Mike. Quote
Members ruthless Posted March 31, 2009 Members Report Posted March 31, 2009 That looks great! Did you handstitch it? That must've taken a while!! Spots, rivets and chicago screws? Are they gilt or solid brass? Quote
TomSwede Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 Neat and clean looking collar!! Brass looks soooo good on black leather. Tom Quote
Members HarryB Posted April 1, 2009 Members Report Posted April 1, 2009 Great job. Very well done. When hand stitching, use harness needles, available in several sizes. They have a blunt point for pre-punched holes. Use the smallest one your thread will fit through the eye of. Only one suggestion; Finish the edges on the narrower strap before sewing it onto the wider one. Besides that, everything looks great. Quote

I wounder how similar they are to the tapestry needles I have...? Yes I need to invest in a burnisher for my edging. I also forgot to use my gum trag before I finished it. Quote
