Makers stamp

My business name is Ranch Dressings. I've been making everything and anything since I was a kid (a long time ago), and a few years ago, my son, who lives in Jackson Hole, WY, asked me to make him a pair of chaps. So that was my first attempt at leather work. They turned out really awesome and now I have made chaps and chinks for a lot of his friends out west. Some of his friends work or live on or own horse ranches--thus the "Ranch" part of the name; and because I am also involved in a lot of garment construction---thus the dress, or "Dressings" part of the name.

I do need to get a makers stamp. Any suggestions of who/where to get one made?

I guess I am kinda old school, my stamp says ," Steve Mason, Maker, High River,Alta."

because that's my name, and because I am the maker of what the stamp is on, and I live in High River, Alta

Well....

Once we register a fictitious name, we will be Fuzzy Monkey Leatherworks. (we being my husband and I) Why? Well.. we have 7 of Webkinz's Cheeky Monkeys (well 6 monkeys, one bear who wants to be a monkey lol)..that are hilarious and adorable all at once. They keep popping up in random places with us, becoming a running joke. (Got one for him as a silly, we've acquired more.... etc etc.)

Otherwise, I sign my carving as HM... My high school nickname was Honoo Moeru - meaning "burning flames" according to the friend who dubbed me Mo, due to my wanting red hair and I had a bad temper when people would mock my friends (I've always been a little weird)....and I'm Irish. BUt whatever. But it became a big part of me and who I am, heck the inside of my class ring says HM while the outside says "Katie".... so I've kept HM as a signature - it won't change, even though I'm married. Using it for art since High School and beyond!!!

OK- cool names and reasons,

Mine comes from being a Fire Fighter for 30 years, raised on a ranch I eventually bought from the family, last name is Hurley- thus FLAMING H RANCH

Mine is the "Half Circle J". It was my grandfather's brand in Oklahoma Territory, before state hood. Same name too, I am the IIIrd. Thought it would be cool. I don't have the stamp with the name made yet, but for now, I just stamp the brand on holsters using a J letter stamp, and a half circle made from a ground down roll pin.

My stamp is simply my first and last initial angled so that they touch and look kinda like an inverted V It's also a registered cattle brand

Mine comes from our ranch. I dont have it uploaded in this computer to show yet but the kw brand stands for kathie and will which is my wife and I (she says it stands for kathie windom). It has a horse head on both sides of the brand ((which is from her tatoo on her shoulder that I took a picture of and doctored up in a grafics program) and then says horse ranch underneath it all. Now that I started working leather I have to modify the "horse ranch" to include leather.

this is gonna be a bit long, since it's evolved over time. when I started I had a very different name I planned to use, and whenever I was doing anything dealing with the leather work I used a certain zippo I had that was from a comic book series. well one night I sat down and was working on the font for the lettering and the logo design. since it was for the leather work, of course I was using the zippo. I was also doing shots of bacardi. the more I worked, the more ciggies I smoked and the more shots I did. the more I saw the name on the zippo and the more I saw the name and logo I was designing, the more I liked the name on the zippo. the name on the zippo was Molly's Escort Service from the comic series Sin City. decided I liked Molly's better (especially since I could use the same name if I ever expanded into other types of leather work like I wanted to) so I slightly modified the font and started using Molly's for the name. fast forward a few years to the next evolution. people decided there needed to be a logo that would identify them easily to each other while being somewhat discreet and have meaning behind it and the whole scene decided there would a contest for it. I decided to try my hand at it and came up with what I thought was a great design with meaning behind it. never got around to sending it in to the committee so I ended up using it meself for the logo since I'd never come up with one after doing the name. another flash forward. I'd stopped doing leather for a bit then decided to start again. since so much had changed in what I was doing, I decided it was time for a new name. I felt like I was being reborn with the leather work, rising from the ashes, so the biz name became Phoenix Rising and I added a bit to the logo to reflect that. flash forward yet again. after a few years of that, I felt like I'd settled back in and was comfortable with what I was doing again so the name just didn't seem to fit and the old name just kept calling out to me, so back to Molly's it was. sort of full circle, as it were, which fit in with the logo perfectly.
