What do you folks line the jaws of your stitching horse with if anything?

Also how wide are the jaws on your horse.

Thanks.

I lined the jaws of my stitching pony with some veg tan scraps... they take all of the abuse and don't make marks on the project leather...

The horse is lined with veg tan, the large clams are lined with a scrap of chrome tan and the small clams are lined with a scrap of suede. Take your pick - and use the softest, toughest bit ofleather you can find.

Jaws measure 4" on the horse, 3" on the large clams and 2" on the small clams. I also have a pair of pliers and they don't have a lining at all! LOL

I lined mine with som really soft chrome tan. I think as long as you line them with some form of leather, you'll be fine.
