Here's a basic adjustable guitar strap that adjusts from 49" to 57". It's pretty similar to the Tandy design, except I put more of a taper on the front end.

(See the one I posted below.)

It prints out in actual size, but I will try to add a grid to show the exact dimensions.

Okay, this might work a little better... here's another one with a quarter-inch grid.

Okay, good, at least you have a way to measure it. I'll see if I can figure out why it won't print. I can't print it, either, go figure! :rolleyes2:

Okay, try this one. I exported it from Illustrator a little differently, and was able to get the whole thing to print out/

Hey Kate I was wondering about the end of the thin strap portion that goes on the neck of the guitar. How do you normally attach those, does it wrap around just after the bridge or is there some attach ment somewhere.

Thanks.

Some guitars have a button just above where the neck attaches to the body. For guitars that don't have this, you would loop a piece of braided cord or latigo lace through the buttonhole and tie it around the neck just above the nut and under the strings.

Hey Kate,

Do you have pattern making software? I was just going to start searching for something that I could draw out patterns on with grids and print in actual size. I was thinking somebody might make something for sewing, but you guitar strap looks like it's very well done. Maybe you have a suggestion...?

I use Adobe Illustrator for all my design work. Illustrator is a little pricey for many, so I will also mention there is a growing array of free open source alternatives to Illustrator. ("Open source" is not always free, but in this case, these are.)

- Inkscape

- OpenOffice Draw

- Creative Docs

One that is not free, but much more affordable than Illustrator is XaraExtreme. They have a free trial you can download if you want to try it out before spending your money.
