Check last months Leather Crafters and Saddlers Journal. Jeff Mosby has a tutorial on coloring flames that is really good! The flames are well proportioned for the size of the piece and have a nice flow to them. I was in the auto body trade for 25 years and painted a lot of flames. It takes practice and a "good eye" to get the size, shape and proportion correct and that is before you ever get any color on them!
