kevinhopkins Report post Posted July 8, 2009 Hi... I think you've either got to get lucky, and find some leather crafter that had the tools and has decided to quit and wants to sell his stuff, or you'll need to talk to a machinist. Actually, as simple as those things were, I think a person could make them with out too much trouble... A machinist friend would be nice tho! Kevin
Deno Report post Posted July 8, 2009 Those are the ones my father used in this Doodle Page. Wish I still had them.
rickybobby Report post Posted July 8, 2009 I'm looking to buy a set of discontinued craft tool decorative cut stamps (Z999) if anyone has a set to sell or knows of a tool maker that makes these let me know. Thanks, Steve Steve, I have the set (there are 3) rt, lt, and a center (straight). I don't want to give them up, I do use them, but if you want to use them to have them duplicated I can send them to you for a little while. They would be pretty easy to duplicate, pretty straight forward design. Let me know, be glad to help if I can. Rick

Jordan Report post Posted July 8, 2009 They kind of look like camouflagers that have been filed smooth? Just a thought.

gtwister09 Report post Posted July 8, 2009 One word of caution when buying these..... Many of them are not shaped correctly. In fact most of the people that I know who have purchased them lately (7-8) all have poorly formed tools. Regards, Ben

Not like a good hand decorative cut but if he doesn't like them he can send them back. I sure wouldn't expect a person to keep something that doesn't work for them. That's not me. gtwister09 Report post Posted July 8, 2009 Ronny, Don't think that I meant to slight you at all or insinuate any shady deals. There was no finger pointing at you at all. Just a friendly warning that the quality of the stamps in the latter years was not up to par. Agreed that they are nothing like hand cuts but some people really like using them. I gave away all 6 or 7 sets that I acquired through other purchases over the years to various people. One of them was a poor set but he modified two of them on some small pipe to fit the proper shape after I gave them to him. He used the printouts from doodle pages to "fit" his properly. He could afford to do that since it cost him nothing. Regards, Ben I don't know if these are shaped right or not, I just tried them and they seem to be okay.
