(And a rather swollen finger cause i kept getting it with the hole-makey-thing) Keep an eye out for my posts to see what i'm up to xXxXxXx Quote

Contributing Member Regis Posted July 29, 2009 Contributing Member Report Posted July 29, 2009 Welcome Elly. With a little bit of reading here you can surprise your leather working friends with knowledge. Now making a glove is one challenging start. Looking forward to seeing some of your work. Regis Quote
Members mulefool Posted July 29, 2009 Members Report Posted July 29, 2009 I think if you were able to manage a glove for your FIRST project the rest of this will be a piece of cake. Chris Quote
rickybobby Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) Welcome Elly! A glove for a first project! Wow! The pointed hole maker thingy will be your best friend and it will keep biting you! It can go in only so far then the bone in your finger will stop it. Ouch! It gets better wiwth practice and it helps if it is really sharp, you have better control and do not have to push as hard. Search this site for "sharpening an awl blade" and there should be something there. If not go to Tandy's website and get the book on "useing and sharpening leather tools" Leathercraft Tools Book http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/default.asp This book is a big help. You also might enjoy the "making cases" books. Rick J. Edited July 29, 2009 by rickybobby Quote
