rdb Report post Posted March 31, 2008 Finished this up today. It's one I started a couple months back, but just did about 8". It just never struck me right. My wife really liked it, and kept mentioning it. I finally had to finish it. I don't have a supply of needles yet, so I think the needle in the machine was to big for this weight (7-8). On a drunken night, my handstitching would look better than that..oh well. Saddle tan base, leather balm, and then ant. black.

rdb Report post Posted March 31, 2008 Thanx Luke. It probably took the better part of a day to tool out...an hour or so for dye, and edging.

rdb Report post Posted March 31, 2008 Thanx Beav and Tom! Beaverslayer - I liked the color too...as usual, you have a plan how to dye, and the leather decides for you...lol Tom - I keep trying ways for no buckles, this one so far seems to be my standard, until I figger another way. That is so true, I'm currently experiencing this, but hey, i think I will get a really cool colouring with this project. I think without buckles produces a cleaner look but mostly I'm concerned that they will scratch the guitar. Tom
