My way of viewing those LARGE posted images

I just switched over to IE to see if it is easier to save pics. I thought Firefox was slow but IE is so much slower! I think I'll go back to Firefox and forego the ease of saving pics.

I had to install Firefox on my computer just to be able to come here. IE was so slow there was no way you could come here and look around unless you liked looking at pages load. I know there was a lot of work that went into the change, but I would have not been able to continue visiting without the instalation of Firefox. It helps, but does not cure the trouble. I am on the internet all the time, this forum is the only place I have trouble.

When we first did the upgrade we had some issues that slowed the forum down, but as far as we know, we corrected them. (One was moving the adserver to a different server.) Are you still experiencing a slow forum in IE? And all your Java updates are current? I am not aware of anyone else with the "slow forum" issue any more, so any details you have will be helpful.

When it was first switched, it was incredibly slow. After the changes were made it got better. Switching to Firefox helped too. I have just decided that waiting is part of visiting here. I see people comment on it every now and then, but think most are just polite and have chosen not to complain and bring it up over and over, sort of beating the dead horse thing. Possibly if there was a poll asking people how this forum compares to other sites they visit might shed more light. I would think it was me except I do OK virtually everywhere else. I do have an older computer, so possibly newer computers can mask the load times with faster processing speeds (I do have cable internet). I am not trying to complain, just commenting on it. I know I am not the only one dealing with this. In general, I have noticed when things are "improved" for various reasons, speed is almost always traded for the new features.

You are not alone Aaron, and I think your assessment is pretty good. It's still pretty slow for me too. Maybe it's partly my computer, but it's the slowest site I go to. I've also compensated by not reading nearly as many topics or opening a lot of pictures. I know a few other people that do the same. I'm not complaining because it's still the best resource we have and I know that a lot of work has gone into making it that and continues to go into it everyday.
