tandy all in one

i got some tandy eco flo all in one and wheni use it i don't get an even coat the edges get real dark and the middle is very light i have cleand the leather and applyed it folowing the directions but still get the same efect is just that the stuff is crap or is there a nother problem?

I've used it on quite a few projects and never had a problem with it... could you post a photo of it? Maybe if we could see it, we might have an idea what the problem might be.

Not happy at all with tandys all in one some colors woked a little most did not , i found the black was the worst . I brought it to tandy they did not nowhat to say streaks all the black was coming of right away. Did not make me look good with client.

aftter a while the pink came off . Grape color seemed to hold up - but at that point of it I threw iit all out since they were open no returns - Bottom line to much hard work to destroy with all in one's

I beleive it is best for kids in camp.

Is the lighter area where you cleaned it?

It's been a while since I used All-In-One, but I recall it was finicky. I think I used to put it on lightly with a damp paper towel, and removed it fairly quickly with a dry one. A second coat dissolves the first one, so it's best to get it right the first time.

If this is your first try with All-In-One, just keep practicing. I'm a bit challenged when it comes to dyes and finishes, and it usually takes me some time to figure out the way to bring out the best in these products.

Hi....you might try dampening your leather evenly before you put the stuff on... don't know if that will help or not, but it does with some products. Another thing might have to do with the way that you're wetting your leather, or even just the leather itself. If you've got a pc of leather that has been plated fairly heavily, and if you're wetting your leather just in the area that you're tooling, you can get results like what you've posted. It's really amazing the difference that the tannage can make in the accepting of dye.... That's one of the reasons that folks are always touting Hermann Oak and Wickett and Craig. Those sorts of issues are minimal with those leathers. Anyway, It's kind of hard to know without being able to hold the piece in hand, but those are a couple of things that could affect things. I'm not a huge fan of the eco flo stuff, but I think the all in one is the best of the bunch.

I've been having similar issues with Tandy's leather dye. I'm using the Eco stuff in Brown on Hermann Oak. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but the finished product (holster) ended up with a VERY uneven and blotchy color. Not at all what I had in mind... but it does result in an almost "antique-ish" look. Kind of neat looking but not what I wanted.

I tried all in one in Cactus Green and never could never get it to apply correctly on anything.. Wetting the leather first or not didnt matter.

the only Eco Product I use is there hi-lighter. the rest is garbage

There's a video on YouTube of George Hurst doing a demo with 3 different antiques. One is the all in one.

The photos look like the dye wicked in from the edges. As Kevin mentioned, try with dampened leather so it doesn't wick the dye in from the raw edges.
