Members Old Navy Posted February 19, 2010 Members Report Posted February 19, 2010 Hi,Iam having trouble with my consew 206 R.Its breaking top thread 138.Iam not sure if the needle is turned the right way..What I want is to sew with a 135 17 or a 135/16 for leather.I have 138 in the top and 69 in the bottom. Can you tell me if any of these needles will not work in my machine? Thanks, navy Quote
Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted February 19, 2010 Ambassador Report Posted February 19, 2010 (edited) try the 16 or 17 needle with 69 size thread on top and see if it willl sew that. next get a 18 or 20 size needle. hope this will help you. my consew 225 will sew the 138 size thread well with the larger needle. ps.... look at the needle the side with the long grove is to the left side. CowboyBob Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Most threads will require a size 22 needle to sew#138 Quote

Moderator Art Posted February 20, 2010 Moderator Report Posted February 20, 2010 135/17 is the system, 22/140 or 21/130 are the size you want. singer#/nm#. I have sewn with a #19 with 138/138 and got by with it, however starting out you are going to want to use a #21. Art Most threads will require a size 22 needle to sew#138 Quote
