Jordan Report post Posted April 11, 2008 I just started this project today, I used an old pair of flipflops that fit me pretty good for a pattern and I plan on a stationary looped heel strap and a one piece ajustable strap and buckle to hold um on my feet. Jordan Report post Posted April 12, 2008 (edited) 2 steps forward 1 step back, 37" of 3/4 strap is to short by about 5", back to tandy for a couple of longer ones. So far they are coming together nicely and is turning into a real learning/problem solving project. Goodyear - Michilin or Firestone ................ seriously they look great. at your local shoe shop you could buy Creep Soles that you could glue with Barge or Masters Cement . that would make some fine sandals.. I thought about all kinds of things like hobnails, rivets, tooled ridges, rubber poundo board or just leave them plain leather and wear them out while planning my next new and improved pair. I love these sandels, and I now want to make a set of my own (and one for the bride unit). They seem like a pretty straight forward project, but I find myself curious as to weight and type of leather you used for the straps and the footbed/sole.
