What Work Lamp Do You Use?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

What kind of lamp do you use on your worktable while you do leather works?

I still don't have a lamp on my worktable, I think I need one.

And I just found one I like, but I don't know what is it called?

Picture as attached which I downloaded from Quoddy. Anyone can ID that lamp?

Anyway, tell me what kind of work lamp you use? Picture?

Chris

Natural light when available, and run of the mill compact fluorescent lamps in the evenings.

..something tells me that Ed is gonna have a book to write on this topic.......

All my bench lamps are standard long neck desk lamps. All my bulbs are the new spiral fluorescent bulbs 100 watt and 6500k. All my 4 foot wall florescent lights have 6500k that give me day light white light. I've got bad eyes and the doc recommended to me the high kelvin bulbs.

Happy tooling

I use Ott-lite brand lamps for my crafting needs

nice bright lights and full spectrum as well

but not cheap - I got mine from Jo-Ann's Fabrics

Ott Lite & Verilux. Both purchased on sale - $25 for Ott (was originally $150, but was store display) & about the same for the Verilux (at Ollies Discount Merchandise).

Another nod for the compact spiral 6500k/daylight fluorescent bulbs. Another question is a good movable lamp to put the bulbs in that isn't going to lose its tensioning/positioning in six months.

My favorite lamp is a Danray gooseneck.

I enjoy using that Magnetic base lamp with aluminum hood from harbor freight, but there have been a few times where the magnet didn't hold as strongly as it should have.
