JerryLevine Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Hey Jerry, I actually updated the webpage for them to allow folks to add International Shipping (selection at the bottom of the page) to make things easier. Just choose the burnishers you want and then select the appropriate amount of shipping (based on the number of burnishers) at the bottom of the webpage. Here's the burnisher web page: http://tmcleather.weebly.com/ Chris Chris, That's great: MANY thanks.....Please see my order. Now all I have to do is to see how much the UK Customs sting me for! Thanks again. Jerry Quote All the best, Jerry "There is nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse" Will Rogers 1879-1935 quoting Sir Winston Churchill 1874-1965
Members Spinner Posted October 31, 2010 Author Members Report Posted October 31, 2010 No problem Jerry. I got the order and am heading out to the shop now so they'll likely be in the mail tomorrow. Not sure what UK customs hits folks for...maybe one of the other UK owners can chime in? Thanks for the order! Quote Chris Three Mutts Customs Leather - http://www.threemuttscustoms.com
JerryLevine Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 No problem Jerry. I got the order and am heading out to the shop now so they'll likely be in the mail tomorrow. Not sure what UK customs hits folks for...maybe one of the other UK owners can chime in? Thanks for the order! It's not so much the Value Added Tax (VAT) or the import duty, but the post office's handling charge, which for a small package like this is going to cost around $12-15!!!! The only things that don't get stopped are things that clearly state they're antique/second-hand/pre-owned things. Oh Well, we'll see! Now if you can fit up a jig or something that uses two burnishers, driven from a single Dremel that could do both sides of a strap at once.......(no commission charged on free creative thought!) Members Meleck Posted November 3, 2010 Members Report Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) The one on the left has a stem that is 1/8" in diameter over a 9" run with beads every 1 1/2" and a captive ring. Very stable lathe and very sharp tools. I wouldn't dream of turning this thin. The thing would blow up on me and pieces would be flying with a plethora of religious words. Even if I am a wood turner, I'm not trying to match your tool. It's easier and quicker for me to just buy them. Order was placed yesterday. Edited November 3, 2010 by Meleck Quote

Thanks Meleck, it was turned on a Powermatic 3520A lathe with original Jerry Glaser A-11 tools (not the new Glaser Hitec garbage the folks that bought his name are making). Turning the goblets aren't as bad as it would appear if you know the process. I have had to teach & do demos on how to turn them using a Jet mini in the past if you can believe that... I did receive your order and confirmed it today. I should have them in the mail to you tomorrow afternoon if all goes well. Thanks! Members Ben Hollon Posted March 8, 2012 Members Report Posted March 8, 2012 I am very interested in this. Can i get your information so i can purchase one of these from you? Thanks, Ben Hollon I may end up making a bunch for folks that want them. They only take a few minutes to cut and turn so cost would be pretty low I imagine. I'll have to check out the shanks at Harbor Freight. Home Depot wants $5 for the sanding drum replacement pack. Worst case scenario, I could probably make them and get them shipped in the lower 48 for $10...that sound about right? Quote
