TexasLady Report post Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) Can ANY ONE Please tell me where I can purchase two (2) pairs of SHOELAST. I need a size 8, and 10. THANK YOU. 12/13/10 No, I can't. But I'm fascinated by your question. I lived many years in South America. None of their ready-made shoes would fit me, as I have a long, thin foot, with a high arch, and long-ish toes. (It looks good. I'm not complaining.) I ordered a last, custom made for my feet, but couldn't get back to pay for it and pick it up for a long time. When I finally got there, the maker had been forced to cut it down to a smaller size and sell it. I paid him for making it anyway, as I'd known when I ordered it that it might 'be a while' before I could get back. I should have just bought a larger last and 'carved it down' myself. I'm an artist, and I've done clay scupture and also I've carved linoleum block for block printing. Next on my agenda should be learning to carve lasts. But that's for a future project. I hope that you find some ready made lasts. Please let us know where we can get them too? - TexasLady Edited December 13, 2010 by TexasLady

TexasLady Report post Posted June 18, 2011 6/18/11 Thanks, MasterLeatherCraftsman. Yes, I have a nice pair of feet. I used to put my twinkletoes into pink ballet toeshoes. Those have some fancy wood and leather construction in the arch and toe. You have to bend them when they are new, to get them to arch, as they start out flat. But too much bending breaks the arch, and then the shoes are no good any more. This was decades ago for me, but I'm sure that getting acquainted with the construction of my toeshoes, as a child, was part of what sparked my fascination with the idea that making shoes should be part of each person's human experience. I haven't been around for a while, but I am again trying to locate my stash of tools. - TexasLady
