Members JamesR Posted December 18, 2010 Members Report Posted December 18, 2010 Hello, I just purchased some Sam Browne studs with back studs (rivets) and an anvil I am not sure how the back stud locks itself into the front piece. What tool should I use to hit the stud in? How do you know when it is tight enough? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks Jim Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted December 18, 2010 Contributing Member Report Posted December 18, 2010 There is an anvil available in which the stud rests and the back of the rivet is tapped in. http://springfieldleather.com/store/product/2228/Anvil%2CStud%2CSam-Brown/ If you're a handy person, you could make one of these, by stacking a washer with a small enough hole to catch the rim at the base of the stud on top of a board with a hole big enough for the rest of the stud. Or, as cheap as they are, just buy the one from Springfield (Tandy probably has it, too). Quote
Billsotx Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 (edited) I use an old socket, like in socket wrench. It's a junker I found somewhere and not good enough to be a wrench ... made in *^*&^&* ... LOL! Edited December 18, 2010 by Billsotx Quote
