Contributing Member Crystal Posted December 31, 2010 Contributing Member Report Posted December 31, 2010 After the visitors (semi-residents) of the chat room started noticing rings on Johanna's table , they decided that coasters were needed for the coffee cups and other beverage containers. So- come one, come all and take the challenge! Make up a coaster! No rules... ok... ONE RULE: It has to be no larger than 4". Make it round, square or anything in between. Carved, stamped or whatever else is fun. We'd like to see what you come up with by January 31, 2011. This is just the project to stave off the after holiday blues and the soon to set in cabin fever. Everyone is welcome. New to leatherwork? Perfect way to get your feet wet. Old seasoned-pro? Try something completely different! And just a reminder - the chat room is always open and the semi-residents don't bite. (Well- not often and they have their shots.) Come on in, get some coffee, shoot the breeze, ask questions or just sip some coffee and watch the antics! Post your creations anytime! Can't wait to see what comes out of all these creative minds here! Crystal (No, I can't take credit for this idea. Thank MarkB and Superchute when you see them.)

Contributing Member ClayB Posted January 1, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted January 1, 2011 When Russ told me about this yesterday I thought it was a great idea. I'm glad they came up with it and got it going. I've got quite a few things I need to practice working on in the next few months and this one was just the right size. So here's my coaster.
MarkB Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Clay Thanks for posting yours this looks like it will be a lot of fun. Mark

superchute Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 As I did get around to making my coaster it would just not fit in the round shape. I did this one free hand and after looking back at the pic I still need to do more work on that but with a big cup it will cover most of it

Ambassador broncobuster Posted January 8, 2011 Ambassador Report Posted January 8, 2011 really nice coasters going on here. wow.
Members js5972 Posted January 8, 2011 Members Report Posted January 8, 2011 I've had these coasters in my WIP drawer for over a year. I just stumbled into this sub-forum the other day and was motivated to finish them up. Hops and Grapes seem to be appropriate patterns for coasters in my circle.
