Members LBsaddles Posted January 22, 2011 Members Report Posted January 22, 2011 Im having a hard time getting oak leaf patterns to look right. I have looked at a lot of patterns some look like sheridan and some just look random. The biggest thing about them to me is none of it looks like what oak leaves on the tree really look like. I saw a picture of somthing Chan Geer made that look more like what I wantbut it has floral in it too and the pic is small so i can't really get a good idea of how to do it. If anybody has a way to make this easier please let me know i will appreciate it greatly. Quote
mendedbowl Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 George Hurst made a DVD titled Carving Oak Leaves he talks about many different styles of oak leaves, and demonstrates how he likes to carver his own style, which is more realistic than many traditional carved oak leaves. I got my copy from Hide Crafters. ken Quote
terrymac Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Get a copy of this years Tandy catalog and look at the front cover. It is a George Hurst oak leave pattern. I think you download the pattern from Tandy's website. Terry Quote

Tree Reaper Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 I bought this dvd a while ago but it doesn't work and I'm waiting for a replacement. No point carving oak leaves until I see it. Kevin. Quote
