Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a saddle seat stick?

Like the one J. Watt and Johnson used to smooth the saddle ground seats with.

Thanks

I haven't seen the J. Watt videos but I am guessing what you are referring to is a "bow". Hidecrafters has them listed here.

Frank, thank you!!

The bow rub stick is exactly what I am after.

Thank you very much!

You're welcome Joel. I'm glad it was the one you were looking for. I use a well polished hammer handle myself for the seats. It's a lot cheaper. If I drop it and ding it up....another $5-$10 and some sanding will get me another.

Joel, I use a long curved branch of a deer antler. Don't know why, but; I have several tools made out of antler that do not leave marks on the leather. I use them a s a rub stick, also as a creaser, and general purpose "thingy" for use anywhere I need to finesse.

Thank you

Frank for the link to a very expensive piece of wood! Yowsa!! It was however, the very tool I was asking about.

And thank you for the inside tip info on the hammer handle. This is what I really needed.

I can afford a hammer handle. :)

Bob, a big thank you to you too buddy! I have antler and use it for rubbing and burnishing often.

I never thought to use it as a saddle stick also. Have antler, will try!

It's so wonderful to have folks willing to share their inside trade working knowledge with someone they have never met.

Perhaps one day I can return the favors.

I am truly grateful.

Joel
