Sanch Report post Posted February 16, 2011 I am trying to find out who makes the stamping tools that Springfield sells in their basic 9 set. I am getting ready to start putting together my kit and need a medium range priced set of stamps. I have read here (forum) that the craftool sets are decent but would like a little better than decent so I will not have to upgrade in quality to many times. I am a firm believer that a quality tool can make or break a job.

Randy Cornelius Report post Posted February 16, 2011 My suggestion is that you get what you pay for, I have seen some really good craft tools and then again some that are very poor. You have to really know what you are looking for when you buy one. Sometimes when they are stamping out tools the die they use gets worn out and they keep making them and the product gets very bad and there seems to be no quality control, they just sell them to some unsuspection sole who don't know the difference. My suggestion is to look at Bary King's tools, they are not cheep but I feel you get the best value for you dollar without breaking the bank. Just my .02 cents worth. Art Report post Posted February 16, 2011 Do the math, that's $11 each; kinda pricey? They are all needed tools, no dogs you will never use. Get a good swivel knife and some geometrics from Barry and you will be able to do a lot of work. Art Ok I kinda figured! Hacbarth kinda pricey for now just trying to get decent bang for my dollar!
