Members woodandsteel Posted March 8, 2011 Members Report Posted March 8, 2011 A friend of mine told me he makes and sells a lot of steampunk stuff. His website is http://www.magnolialeatherworks.com , though it doesn't look like he has much on his site at the moment. Quote
Members HellfireJack Posted March 8, 2011 Members Report Posted March 8, 2011 You should join up at Brass Goggles and check their Tactile section. It is the number one steampunk forum out there. http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/ Quote

Members Spinner Posted March 8, 2011 Members Report Posted March 8, 2011 (edited) Another cool shop for doodads to add to Steampunk items is: http://www.stanleylondon.com Compasses, sextants, boatswain whistles, mini-telescopes, etc. One thing that I thought was kind of neat was their Stainless Steel collapsible drinking cups in the pocket watch case. Not cheap but kind of cool nonetheless. Edited March 8, 2011 by Spinner Quote Chris Three Mutts Customs Leather - http://www.threemuttscustoms.com
Members newfiebackflip Posted March 8, 2011 Members Report Posted March 8, 2011 I must say all though this isn't my cup of tea, it seems like a cool and interesting sub culture. Quote
Members Gawdzilla Posted March 8, 2011 Author Members Report Posted March 8, 2011 I can see a niche market for steam punk leather vests here. Quote
Members radar67 Posted March 9, 2011 Members Report Posted March 9, 2011 Gawdzilla, the vests, vambraces (cowboy cuffs), hats, and wrist bands are the main items sold at most of the conventions I have attended. Quote

Cool. I'll have to see what the community is like in St. Louis. Thanks, all! BTW, was "Golden Compass" a steam punk movie? Quote

Very much so. Some excellent examples of goods and gear in that movie. Although, I don't recall that Steam was the major power source, but the means of transport, etc. definitely are in the realm.
