TinyL Report post Posted March 30, 2011 I love your lacing. It's so much different than just a regular "x". Your wet molding is impeccable also. I think these type of seats are the most challenging to do vs. regular pan seats. It's very clean and neat. What ounce leather did you use and how did you go about making the pattern for the sides? I always find that the most difficult to do. I hate to waste leather but I always leave alot to cut off because it's safer to trim than to be short. It's a lovely piece of construction. 276ccm Report post Posted March 30, 2011 Thanks a lot for comments and feedback! For the sides, I used ordenary masking tape and sort of molded they way I liked it onto the seat padding. Then I took it off and placed it on cardboard and cut it out, and then transfered it over to the leather. I´m not sure of the ounces of the leather but it´s about 4mm thick. Back when I had a bike (700 Shadow - I know... eeeww a Honda) I wasn't doing leather work. Wish I had another bike to dress up now. BTW - Nice Job.... for an amateur? Ha. Between the design, tooling, dying and fantastic lacing job - I don't imagine you need to be thinking of your skills as any less than excellent! Very Very Nice seat!
