Studio-N Report post Posted April 29, 2011 I just ordered some more delrin plastic for my stamp making. The last batch of 12 foot rods were $120 each six months ago. New cost is going to be $140. That's a 16% increase in six month. I'm sure it's due to oil increases since all plastics contain some petro products. It won't be long before it hits the leatherwork business. I know that saddle skirting is going up everywhere. what other leatherworking things do you folks see that have gone up lately compared to the last 3-6 months? Hauss Report post Posted April 30, 2011 I was at Zack Whites today they had a news article on the message board about down in S.America they are cutting back on raising cattle for growing corn for making alcohol so less cattle less leather price will be going up . It's a never ending cycle I don't think there is anything that hasn't went way up the coffee I drink a lot of while doing my leather stuff has went up over 30% in the last year!!! Randy Cornelius Report post Posted April 30, 2011 Just got a letter from Wickett & Craig, they are putting a .30 sq ft surcharge on all leather as of May 1, Utility skirting that I used for repairs used to cost 80.00 side now 109.00.
