Spence Report post Posted May 23, 2011 Outstanding work, as usual. I've been meaning to do my own bands for my 2 Barmahs. Thanks for the push, mate.
rcsaddles Report post Posted May 23, 2011 I thought you were like 29, mate. And I ment the actual braiding part. The class went well. Had 10 students and did an eight plait belt. Linghting in the room was terrible but we had fun and my goal was to get folks started and give some info you can not get in the books. I think it went that way. I will be using the cutter later this week. I talked to a friend in Wyoming and gave him some sample roo lace to use for edge braiding. Trying to work a deal with him to cut his lace for him. You know how it is to trade. I gave your web address out at the class on your cutter so hopefully it will do some good. I plan on doing the class again next year and was thinking of doing hat bands instead of the belts. Take care, Mate.

I would love to do some but I want a machine first !! I have see some that where laced and they looked very nice, with all the yoke and stuff been laced on they but must have been heavy !!!! How long before you head overseas ? Edited May 27, 2011 by Bevan
JasonGwiazda Report post Posted May 28, 2011 Yea mate I've nearly finished it for ya. I've done a few bridles and made those chinks for Steve, a pair of haying chaps for when we do hay and some shotguns for Dave M. Check the shotguns out here: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=32143&st=0&p=200242entry200242 Funny that, I'm looking at upgrading my machine when I get the $$$ you can always use ours if you want, it does chaps alright, just doubled bridle leather she struggles some. When you say the chaps were laced, were the belts laced in or the whole lot?? I've got exactly 1 month until I leave and then will be back in August.
