Frank Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Just wanted to wish everyone including my fellow Veterans a happy and safe Memorial Day. On a side note, I figured the Veterans would get a kick out of this. I bought and fully restored a 1952 M38 Willys Korean War Jeep. Here are a couple of photos. The background is a local Veterans cemetery where my Great Grandfather is buried. Take care all. Frank Quote
dirtclod Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 The members from the VFW go to every cemetery in the county and put a flag on every Veterans grave on Memorial Day every year. Seeing all of the flags makes one appreciate the men and women that have served their country. A big thank you to all the veterans. That's a nice looking Jeep, Frank. Quote
Members BondoBobCustomSaddles Posted May 29, 2011 Members Report Posted May 29, 2011 Happy Veterans Day to all, especially those who have served or are currently serving. I am reminded of the sacrifices that so many have made every time I walk down the halls of the VA Hospital here in Ann Arbor. It is amazing to see all the brothers in arms from so many different fronts and times! God help all vets, don't forget to say a prayer for those who are currently in harms way today and serving to help preserve our way of life. Sincerely, Bob Quote
Frank Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Thanks dirtclod. There's a lot of blood, sweat and f-bombs in that beauty Quote
Members Viking Queen Posted May 30, 2011 Members Report Posted May 30, 2011 I'm fortunate to still have my own WWII veteran in the next room from me. Mom, now age 93, was a Marine supply Sargent in WWII and while her memory of many things fades daily, she has never forgotten her service as a Marine. While my other Marine, Dad, has been gone a long while, I still miss him, and admire him. Thank you all, veterans and current military members, for all you have done for our country. I am humbled by your service to all of us. Semper Fi ! By the way, Frank, (that was also my Dad's name) I love the Jeep. . . I know how much work was involved in that restoration . . . friend and I have just begun restoration of a 59 Chev Apache Panel and we'll be at it a good long while, I imagine. Your restoration was clearly a labor of love. Thanks for sharing. Viking Queen Quote
