Contributing Member Ferg Posted July 27, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted July 27, 2011 First point of contention: You really need to work on your beveling. If you are having trouble getting the hang of moving the beveler as you tap it, at least use a modeler and smooth the bevels you have. You selected one of the most difficult Basket Weave designs out of a bunch. Practice on some scrap leather before doing a "Keeper". Next to edge lines aren't very good. Some of your work looks like the leather may have been too wet when you knifed it as well as stamping. If you are using fairly thin leather, use a thicker swivel knife blade. That makes your knife marks wider without cutting deeper. ferg and again. almost finished Quote

My family all think that it is great work, but then they don't really see other peoples work or know what to look for when they do critique. Please feel free to make any additional comments about what I can do to improve. cheers! Quote
LNLeather Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 I like your work... looks like you are keeping busy! I am just a noob, but I think if you keep on tooin' you will just Naturally get better. I learn something new every day, and I can actually see it in your work... and so do others... not everyone will take the time to say so, but you can tell by the numbers of people that have downloaded your pictures! I really like your belts with the Basketweave and especially the Celtic claw (on the back of the notebook cover) Have fun & thanks for posting your pictures Keep on toolin and posting your pics for sure! ps. .......remember to search here (upper right hand corner of the page) for anything you have a question about.
