Members Double U Leather Posted August 2, 2011 Members Report Posted August 2, 2011 Haven't posted anything for a while. Not that stuff hasn't been moving out of the shop, but with announcing rodeos all over the US, I haven't really taken the time to post much. Anyway, here's a wallet for a customer that had been on order since April!! It turned out pretty nice. I hadn't done that braided edge thing for probably 30 years. I remember using the Tandy kits back then, but I thought I cut everything myself. Guess what...my holes didn't line up any better than the old kits. I remember why I hated doing these edges when I was in 4-H. Anyway, let me know what you think. Quote
Members WyomingSlick Posted August 8, 2011 Members Report Posted August 8, 2011 Good example of why to avoid those kits with the pre-punched holes. The usual practice when lacing the corners is to go through the corner hole three times and possibly the next one twice if needed. That doubling in the other holes along the side looks "funny"! Very nice tooling job. Quote (John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV) And the truth is that religion is nothing more than the lame attempt by largely ignorant people to bring sense and order to a world that was beyond their comprehension. Once you see religion for the delusional and superstitious artifact it is............... you will be free !
Phatdaddy Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 I really like and envy the tooling! I think the lace should have been done opposite. It looks like the back side of the lacing is out on that project. Just my opinion. Quote
electrathon Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Yup, your tooling is nice but the inside is out on your lacing. Aaron Quote
Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted August 9, 2011 Ambassador Report Posted August 9, 2011 Yup, your tooling is nice but the inside is out on your lacing. Aaron I kept looking and thought the same thing....(I DID THAT ONCE).... Quote Luke
