Members Treed Posted November 2, 2011 Members Report Posted November 2, 2011 I was going though some boxes and found a box of duty holsters and in it was a Chapman Hi-ride from Bianchi holsters. It was a cross draw for the 1911. I decided to give it a try and the holsters here are the first prototypes that I came up with. The first holster is a cross draw, 8oz Herman Oak with liner, neatsfoot oil and antique paste. The second is my version of the holster made in a strong side carry. The same leather and finish Quote
Members steelhawk Posted November 2, 2011 Members Report Posted November 2, 2011 Those are great. It makes me want to get back into tooling. I may one day. Quote

Members mattsh Posted November 3, 2011 Members Report Posted November 3, 2011 Very nice work. I hope to learn to tool like that some day. Quote
Lobo Posted November 3, 2011 Report Posted November 3, 2011 Very nice work. Actually, Bianchi's Chapman Hi-Ride series was made primarily for competition use, strong-side with a reverse cant allowing a very natural draw angle when worn at, or slightly forward, of the strong-side hip. They can certainly be used for cross-draw. Quote
