Here is my second bosal. Pretty much the same as the first except this one turned out even better. Plaiting straighter, core med. soft not as floppy as my first, pineapple bigger with more bites and interweaves. The really cool thing is that this one is sold. Thanks again for everyone's help in answering my questions. I'm sure I will have more.

Jamie

Nice Job!

I just finished my first all leather one (have made a couple nylon bosals) but havent gotten any pics of it yet. I wish that my nose button turned out as good as yours did!

Did you do a multiple string nose button or just a single string?

Hey Aggie,

That one was 6 strands and I did the braided method instead of the spiral. Looking forward to seeing your work.

Very, very, nice. I'm working on my 2nd bosal and it too is sold, but didn't put a price on it. If you don't mind me asking how much did you sell it for? I hope mine comes out as nice.

I had this one sold to a friend, so he got the good buddy discount of $125. But I think I will charge between $150 and $200 from now on, depending on the size. I know that may still be a little cheap but I know people who have started out making saddles and letting them go for less than they would like, just to get their name out there. Now they are in demand and charging more what they want. Hopefully this will work for me too.

I would say your second bosal will be awesome! Your first one sure looked good. How do you do your cores? and what stiffness are they?

I'm using an old reata of mine. The bosals are pretty raggy and works well if the horse is soft, but need to learn how to make a stiffer core because my stallion gets a little bracey with it.LOL good thing I have others hackamores I bought.

I also sold my bosal to a good friend, and he looks at and buys a lot of tack, so Im going to let he pay me what he thinks its worth. I may find out how good of friend I have, LOL he may pay me more than I think its worth, or less either way I'll be ok with that.. This will be the last order I take for a while I want to make some more things I want to do and if someone wants to buy them when they'er done then I'll sell them.

Very nice Bosal. Congratulations. I need to get the dimension to make one. I have never try because I don't how big they should be.

Cheers,

Enrique
